Software Localization
The first section of the presentation defines the term Localization. It explains the importance of being compliant with specific country and parallel multiple countries' requirements.
The three major aspects of localization are discussed. The first one, the Internationalization represents the enablement of various Code Pages, Unicode, and parallel multiple languages. The second one, the delivery of the User Interface, the printed documents from the system and the user guides in various local languages. And finally the third one, the Functional localization of a system, under which the compliance with local legal and business requirements is understood. We discuss in detail under which circumstances must localization be considered and how such activity is best performed and maintained.
